The Controversy of Airport Security
By w311y: 27/10/11
It’s no secret that airport security has become stricter recently. This is due to the fact that there are far higher security hazards present when traveling. Lives are in jeopardy when effective security steps aren’t taken.
9/11 has shown this to be the case in the most horrifying way possible.
Sadly, there are several examples in the news and where TSA staff have overreacted, leading to some nerve wracking and mortifying situations that could have been handled in a far better way.
The rationale that these events have gained attention is these varied happenings concerned groping which can often be considered a major invasion of person’s intimate space and dignity. Additionally, plenty of the travelers that’ve been violated were either extraordinarily young or awfully old. The video imagery of such cases was covered in the news media. Later on the pictures went viral on the web and surprised a great many more folks. The pictures were worrying to say the least and their impact was tremendous.
Is the question about why authorities would double down won the more pushing approach and searching those traveling removal major airports. The solution to this isn’t really known. One would presume that management likely didn’t want to appear in the media could sway their initiatives referring to how searches are to be performed.
Of course, the plain fact the media attempted to whip up argument added to the potential chaos that will occur with airport searches. This is shown in the civil disobedience that has occurred when travelers attempt to defy the directives of those in charge of security.
Will the hysteria chill? Them in time, it might very well. For the moment, more events of insubordination are possible. Hopefully, they will never rise above the level of minor practical jokes and let people enjoy their trip.
