Fort Myers Beach is undoubtedly one of Florida’s least known secrets, and this is going to be favorable to people who have found it, and like the indisputable fact that it is not as busy as other Florida beaches like Naples, Tampa, St Petersburg, Sarasota, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

Fort Myers Beach is on the stunningly natural Estero Island, and offers an amicable and relaxed atmosphere which is quite different from the star laden and glamorous resort communities of these other tourist towns. When it's time to escape from the hustle of day to day life, you cannot fail when you choose the isolated beaches that are sure to make your vacation go wonderfully.

Fort Myers Beach is an “Old Florida” destination spot that potentially lost some of its lure of the past because other locations invested heavily in advertising to bring foreign holiday makers to their towns. But that now Fort Myers Beach is benefitting thanks to the absence of over-crowding. This fantastic holiday spot has long been a big attraction for Americans though, but isn't completely appreciated until it is seen personally.

At Fort Myers Beach you will find seven full miles of sandy coast that surround the quaint town makes this a fantastic sight. With the many soaring palm trees to provide sufficient shade, with the sweet white sands that seem to never stop, you will likely get the impression that you have arrived at your own private paradise. The fantastic thing about the beach is enough to take your breath away, but when you have a look at the clear, green water, you will really appreciate this treasure. It is the shallow depth and no undertow that makes it a swimmers paradise or the perfect place to get started with a new water sport.

It’s not just the beach itself that draws out of town or foreign visitors. The Lovers Key State Recreation Area is an adventure worth waiting for. There are 4 barrier islands that create this park, and it's easy to catch a glance of West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, and bald eagles while sunbathing, swimming and shelling along the beaches. Hiking fans will be pleased with what they find on close by Black Island. So will those that like to bike or spend a little time with other active sports.

And after a day of swimming and relaxing on the beach you will find a mess of Fort Myers Beach diners where you can stop and get a bite to eat. Close by you will find the town of Fort Myers for shopping, fine dining and other entertainment. And obviously inside driving distance are the city and beaches of Naples, Sarasota, Tampa and St. Petersburg. So if you do wish to have a change of views during your holiday, and to be part of a more bustling beach then the choice is yours.
