Airline Pilot Jobs Abound

Boeing and rival aeroplane maker Airbus differ on many things however there’s one topic on which they both agree and in fact have come up with almost identical estimates. Airlines will have to recruit about 460,000 new pilots over the coming twenty years. In order to train and instruct these new pilots it has been assessed that 1,200 instructor pilots will be needed each year for the following 20 years.

Already some Airlines are beginning to suffer the effects of this lack, especially those established in states that are experiencing fast business growth like China and India. Boeing has predicted that China alone will need more than 70,000 Commercial airline pilots in the subsequent 20 years. Many airlines in this region have said that their expansion has been limited due to their inability to hire suitably trained pilots.

While larger carriers in western nations aren’t influenced at this time due to cadet programs and affiliate connections with certain flying colleges which maintain a constant supply of pilots for them. Asian countries however have not yet developed these types of programs and are relying on expatriate pilots to crew their aircraft.

By recruiting expatriate airline pilots, airlines can crew their aircraft and also provide much needed experience levels in the cockpit. The downside of this though is the price of procuring these pilots. In some nations like Vietnam expatriate contract pilots are paid around double the amount paid to the local pilots. This however is the price of doing business and it will more than likely stay this way as Airline Pilot Jobs become more and more in demand.

A current trend which is developing is the movement of pilots from one airline to another. We are witnessing pilots leaving their present airline jobs and going to fly for other carriers. Higher pilot salary’s and better conditions of work are very attractive and appealing tomany pilots and is so a straightforward call for them to modify roles.
